20 documentary, fiction and animation films from around the world, which are shot in video and the new media, not transferred into celluloid and of a maximum length of 45 minutes, are selected to compete for the PLATFORMA VIDEO9 Grand Prize to be awarded on the festival's closing ceremony.
The winners The Grand Prize Selection Platforma was awarded to "Almaritsu" by Damien Montaron from France where two children are lost in the confusion of age and maturity. Their encounter will change their slow-moving surroundings and lead all the human beings who cross the path of their dreamlike journey.
The jury's Special Mention was awarded to "Mariza" by Konstantinos Krystallis. A film about an old fisherman who tries to convince his donkey to climb the steep and winding road of their Greek island when he finds out Mariza to be one stubborn ass. However the old man knows that no-one can resist Zorba's dance.
The film "True beauty this night" by Peter Besson from USA was also awarded with the jury's Special Mention. A film about Rhett Somers meeting the love of his life the last night. Now all he has to do is convince her that she's the one. Not an easy feat considering how they met. |
