MY OWN ACROPOLIS experimental workshop 2009 is a 4 days of work sessions and masterclasses exploring new methods of creating a video documentary based on a common sense process. The workshop’s activities involve the shooting, processing and final presentation of the festival's making of by a team of cinema students from European countries.
The theme of this year MY OWN ACROPOLIS workshop is Cultural Life in my city through remix. Inspired from the idea of the remix culture, each student must create, prior to his arrival at the workshop, a 30sec video, experimenting with digital remixing. In combination with all the material recorded during the Festival and the knowledge acquired from the master classes, the students will produce a final 15min documentary to be presented at the closing day of the Festival.
*Remix culture is a term employed by Lawrence Lessing and other copyright activists to describe a society which allows and encourages derivative works.
