This newly introduced thematic section of the programme compiles a selection of fiction, documentary animation and experimental films inspired by music creation and created by young audiovisual professionals. Two οf the most exciting festivals of this type, the International Short Film Festival Porto 7, from Portugal, and the I.M.V.F Indie Music Video Festival from Vancouver, Canada participate in this section. 

Movies by independent directors are also screened.

• Birdland

A german fiction movie about a girl and a man – a duel and a duet.The girl with the saxophone haw a dream: She wants to become a star. She wants the big show and the big breakthrough.  But there’s this special guy with the saxophone getting in Sophie’s way, again and again.  Who will win, who will lose?

Terry Papadinas, 56 years old, lives in Thessaloniki, Greece, is a musician and is desperately seeking for a job.  Raised in New York During 60’s , he became an absolute star of the indie rock scene of the time upon his return to Greece.  A charismatic and charming idol, he is also a classical representative of the rock subculture, typified by reactionary self destruction.

A musical adventure with the occasion of Thanassis Papakonstantinou.  This project registers the reality of the band “Laikedelika” for two years, a company of musicians that in combination with Thanassis Papakonstantinou created an explosive music result.
