The International Animation Festival & Forum aniμasyros 2.0 will be held this year anew in Hermoupolis, Syros Island enriched with a professional Forum.

aniμasyros  2.0 will be held on September 24-27, 2009 in Apollon Theatre and in the venues ofthe Cultural Centre of the Municipality of Syros Island.  

This year the festival includes screenings of a significant number of animation films from around the world and a competition section of more than 70 films, presentations of International animation festivals, workshops for children and for students of the animation section of the University of South Aegean and Technological Educational Institute of Athens.

The professional Forum that is organised this year for the first time aims at bringing animation professionals together, while it also focuses to the presentation of new animated works and to the exploration of the possibilities of the promising animation film industry.

The aim of aniμasyros  2.0 is the promotion of digital culture as it is expressed through animation films by Greek and foreign artists. Additionally, it aims to familiarise the wider audience with quality animation as well to decentralise cultural events, choosing to this end the capital of Cyclades complex of islands as its base.

The International Animation Festival & Forum aniμasyros  2.0 invites you to submit your films for preselection until September 5, 2009.
